The Move To and Copy To actions can move or copy a single file, multiple files, or an entire folder to different locations across your account for an easy organization on the web app, and it’s just as easy to organize media on the go with these actions now available on the Frame.io iOS App.

Open the menu options on a single file or folder by tapping the three dots and select Move To. A modal will be presented showing all available teams to move the item based on the user’s access, including a Suggested section for quick access to the relevant folder, project, and team the item is being moved from. After a team is selected, select the project and then optionally a folder location to move the item. A new folder can be created by tapping the New Folder icon at the bottom left of the modal. Tap Move Here to confirm the move.

Moving a single file can also be done from the Player by pressing the three-dot menu at the top of the Player.

Open the menu options on a single file or folder by tapping the three dots and select Copy To. A modal will be presented showing all available teams to copy the item based on the user’s access, including a Suggested section for quick access to the relevant folder, project, and team the item is being copied from. After a team is selected, select the project and then optionally a folder location to copy the item. A new folder can be created as well by tapping the New Folder icon. Tap Copy Here to begin the copy. Before the copy can complete, an additional menu will ask to select Copy with comments or Copy without comments. Select your preference to complete the copy.

Copying a single file can also be done from the Player by pressing the three-dot menu at the top of the Player.

To select multiple assets or folders to move or copy to bulk, tap the checkmark icon in the top bar to enter into Selection mode. This will add a tick mark circle next to every asset and folder to select one action. After selecting your items, tap the second option (folder with an arrow icon) to begin the moving process and tap the third option (stacked files icon) to begin the copying process.

Q: Can any user move or copy an asset or folder to any location on their account?
​A: Team members can only move or copy assets and folders to the teams within the account they have access to. Collaborators can only move assets and folders within the project the file(s) are in. Collaborators can copy all public files and folders within the same Account.

​Q: Can I move assets to a different account I have access to?
​A: Moving assets and folders is not supported between accounts. They are only permitted between teams and projects under one account.
